Hello there, its 2026 and your business is not where you want it to be. You have good quality products or services but so little people patronize your business. One area you might be lacking is in your Marketing.
And in the world, we are today you can’t talk about marketing without referring to internet/digital marketing because that’s where the people are, and that’s why in this post I will be taking through effective digital marketing strategies.
What is Digital Marketing.
In the simplest form, digital marketing is marketing online. Yes, bringing your products and services online and trying to convince people to purchase them. However, digital marketing is so much broader than this.
I will liken it to a tree with many branches, one of which is copywriting. Copywriting is the art of persuading/convincing someone to take some form of action; on this art there are tons of material online.
Digital marketing also has within it:
- Be Genuine
- social media marketing
- SEO
- web Analytics
- Email marketing
- Search Engine Marketing
- Content Marketing
Be Genuine.
Never advertise what you don’t have. Always remember that in business apart from the sales and gigs, what’s more important is your reputation. Never do a bad job, never tell a lie to your customers, never give your word for something you’re not sure off.
There’s an old saying that trust lost, can never be regained. So just don’t do it. Evaluate yourself, if your customers say the product is bad improve on it if you are the manufacturer or stop selling it.
If you run an online business, like a blog, always post good contents, watch successful people in your field and learn. Always be ready to improve.
Without the character of being genuine, other strategies I will be explaining here will not solve your problem.
Social Media Marketing
Simply put, social media marketing is the act and art of bringing your product online for customers and potential customers to see. In our modern world, it includes running ads on Facebook and Instagram, but it is not limited to that.
Social media Marketing involves building an online presence in social media platforms like LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, WhatsApp, Twitter, Pinterest, Snapchat and so on.
Meta technologies (owners of Facebook and Instagram) is currently running a free educational course where they teach you all you need to know about running ads on Facebook and Instagram. Going through the course will arm you with the skill of running ads on Facebook.

Facebook is Best for Adult Target Audience.
Yes, Facebook has been around for a quite a number of years and mostly fond among adults. Yes, so if your target audience are the gen zs, Facebook might not do it for you.
Facebook has Low Organic Reach.
This cannot be overemphasized. Due to the change in algorithm, Facebook now prioritizes paid ads, contents over organic good contents.
What this means is that as business owner who is an old Facebook user you would notice that your posts do not show on the feeds of your followers as they used, and if your new to Facebook, you would experience the same thing. Learn more.

Instagram as of 2025 boasts of 2.4 billion users worldwide. With that audience it is easily one of the leading social media platforms out there. Instagram is also has about 31 percent of its users to be within the range of 24 to 35 years.
Making it a platform where the older generation and the younger generation mix. So, if your target audience cuts across both adult and young people, Instagram is a platform for you.
Things You Must know About Instagram.
Instagram Is Runs on Pictures and Videos More.
As obvious as it may seem, many do not take into account this crucial fact. So, if you’re looking at putting your business on this platform, your contents should be more of image and video based.
High quality pictures and videos do better on the platform.
Use the Instrumentality of Stories and Reels.
Stories and reals just have more viewability. Unlike Facebook where stories may have many views, Instagram reels and stories tend to have more views.
Instagram Has a Shopping Feature.
This enables business to showcase their products or services in a very professional manner on their profile and posts, enabling users to shop on the app like they were on an online store.
This feature is excellent for business owners as users can place orders right there on the app without being redirected to a website store or something.
Hashtags are used for categorization which aids visibility. So, when posting on the platform have this in mind that to aid users to discover you and your post use hashtags to categorize them.
For example, if you compose a post based on your trip to Rome you should use hashtags like #travelblog, #vacation, #Rome. This way your post will show up in on any search that has to do with Vacation, Rome or a Travelblog.
You can get started on Instagram by downloading the app on Apple Store or Google Play Store and sign up, or you could check their website up and get started.

Social Media Marketing Tips.
- It’s not advisable to be on every platform (Omnipresent). Pick a couple of platforms that you can manage perhaps three and manage them effectively.
- It is however advisable especially for brands to create an account with their brand name on every platform. This seems contrary to the first, but it is a safety measure to stop others from creating accounts with that name before you do.
- Use Facebook and Instagram ads! You just have to them, and you will testify.
- Post quality content that addresses the needs of your audience. Don’t let a day come where there is an irrelevant content on your page or platform. Post content that are educative, creative, and informative.
- Spend a great deal of time on Headlines. For every content you will be posting make sure your headline draws your audience; that’s very crucial. Click here to see a guide on magnetic headlines by Copy Blogger.
- Never forget the 3 seconds’ rule! Immediately after a catchy headline you have 3 seconds to hook your audience. Either with the first line or the sentence say. So, make it count.
- Always engage your audience, reply, answer questions, ask questions and be there for them.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Simply put, Seo is the of improving the visibility of contents on search engine result pages.
Search Engine Result Page
The picture on the right is a google search result page for the search term “SEO”. Now, if you look into that picture, you will see various websites that google is displaying for the search term “SEO”. What every web owner or blog owner wants is for google to place their website at the top of the search. For example, in the picture that would be the first website.

And that is simply what Seo is all about. Seo focuses on increases your websites and post visibility on search engines. There are many things to put into consideration when trying to boost visibility on search engines.
When the concept of improving your online presence is talked about, there are two major factors to consider; and they makeup Seo.
They are regular Seo techniques and the technical Seo techniques.
I call it regular Seo or conceptual Seo because these techniques focus on improving your content for your audience, readers, buyer etc. actual people.
However, technical Seo, focuses on machine, search engines. How, your post is improved for them because if your post is great for your human readers but not your machine audience, the machine (Search Engine) might never bring your content to actual people, Because the machine feels your content is bad.
For example, Google. If your contents or web pages or websites are not Google search engine friendly, they might not do so well on Google.
5 Seo Techniques That Boost Website Visibility (Regular).
- Your Post Headlines. Invest a lot on you post headlines, make sure they are attention grabbing, and promise your audience something they want.
- Use Keywords. In every sphere of life there are certain words that you people use when referring to that particular sphere, know them and use them.
- Write extensively on every blog post you put out there. Always write extensively, google is a search engine that is looking for only the best contents to show her audience, little writings in a blog post does not show excellence.
- Identify your competitors and work with them. Yes, for every topic you want to write about, someone has written something on it, close to or similar. Identify them, look into their writing and improve on them.
- Use Seo tools to check out these competitions, the number of words they used, links, images, videos and try to beat them.
5 Seo Techniques That Boost Website Visibility (Technical).
Like I said before there is the regular Seo, which is good and normal but might not really do a lot of change, but then there is the technical Seo, where we really interact with Search engines and get to understand a lot.
- Get free Seo tools, like keyword Surfer, Moz bar. What these tools do is that they show googles data on every keyword searched. Keyword Surfer shows the data of how many times a particular key word is searched for. Moz bar shows that data of websites, the number of keywords, words, and traffic.
- Use Silo structure for your website. Silo structure is currently the best way website owners, bloggers, structure their website. This type of structure helps web crawlers go through your posts, analyze and index it. Index here means the crawler makes your post, or webpage visible and accessible on search engine. It makes your website easily accessible to search engines.
- Create a site map. A site map is a file where you provide all important information about your site like videos, pages and other files on your site, and show the relationship between them.
- Use backlinks in your posts. Backlinks are what web owners do to promote their webpages. Simply put, it means recommending your own properties. For example, a Blogger may be writing a blog post on Fitness, and somewhere in that post he writes about outfit for exercises. Somewhere in that writeup he can refer his readers to a previous writeup he had done about “Good outfit for Exercises”. That way he is promoting his other post.
Web Analytics
Simply put, web analytics or analysis is you going the extra mile to ensure that your business is making progress. You do this by making efforts to know products or service that go well with your customers.
But beyond these, analytics especially google analytics with show you the kind of customers you have, what attracts them, what means of purchase and reaching out to them is more effective. Google Analytics covers Ads performance also.
So, Web Analytics is an arrangement of data to inform an understanding of user’s behavior across a webpage. Of course, you cannot possibly gather this data yourself and that’s why there are web analytic tools.
Web Analytics Tools
Google Analytics.
Is best for deeper site understanding and detailed site tracking. Google Analytics is the go-to platform for web owners seeking deeper understanding of activities on their websites.
Google Analytics shows data of the amount of site visitors, the means by which they got into your site. What they did (watched a video, viewed an item, started a purchase process, or read an article).
Google Analytics is a tool that you connect to your website backend, and you grant access to your web data. The video here takes you through the step-by-step process of installing google analytics on your WordPress.
This tool helps you keep track of activities on your website and help take informed decisions.
To better understand this analytic tool, it is best to go through the Analytics for beginners and small businesses course that “Google” made available.
After that you go through the Get Started Using Google Analytics, and
Measure Your Marketing with Google
2. Google console.
Google search console simply put is an analytical tool that focuses on search result pages. Yes, the page that shows up on your screen when you initiate a search on google. For example:

In this image you can see I initiated a search for “Cats”, and what comes up after the images is a lineup of websites with data about my search “Cats”. At first, we see Wikipedia at the top spot there, their article is awesome and full of information and plenty data. Then we see Britannica and then videos.
Let say I wrote a post about cats on my website, and my post happens to be somewhere up there, or anywhere on the search result page; I will need data from Google Console to climb up the ladder or maintain the top stop.
What Google console does is that it focuses on the search result page and shows you data about this page that will help you improve.
Data like how many lists google has for that particular search, the CTR (click through Rate), Impression report. The video below explains better what Google Search Console does.
Email Marketing
Email known as Electronic Mail, is one of the best mediums to keep in touch with your customers or web visitors. You would agree with me that regardless of the generation and age, email is still very much in vogue.
It is trusted and very effective because you get to connect more with your customers, and more importantly you can do this on a large scale. Once your email list is built you can keep in touch with thousands of customers via this medium.
Email marketing is good for both small and medium size business, and you would observe that many big companies use emails quite a lot.
Things to Know About Email Marketing.
- Always have an objective, have a goal for sending an email to people. Never forget that. In the world we are people get a lot unwanted (unnecessary) mails, and you never want to be part of those giving that out. Remember, first impression matters, and once a person feels that your mails are not necessary or pointless, they might never open your mail again or might just unsubscribe.
- Always give out something. Yes, something they might not easily come across. It might be news update depending on the purpose of your website or mail, it might be tip (information) that would help them in carrying out a task related to what you’re selling to them. For example, an email marketing campaign list for a fitness business can also include help tips to staying healthy and STRONG!
- Sell something to them but not always. This can be very tricky and the best way to deal with it is to put yourself in the shoes of your customers. Many of them wake up to lots of mails trying to sell them something. A shoe blog, batteries, bags, website ads subscription and so on. You don’t want to add to that list So, provide them with value and present what you’re selling alongside your value. For example, the fitness blogger after providing a fitness tip that says, “Wearing soft cotted shoes could increase the distance you run”, can thereafter present a shoe that fits the healthy shoe description that he made in his mail.
- Build relationship and trust first. This a follow-up of no.3, sell something but after you’ve invested in relationship and trust of your customers. Like stated earlier many people try to sell something to the same customer you’re mailing, and it’s probably the same thing you’re offering, so build relationship and trust first. Let them see you as an expert from the content of the mail you send and the posts on your website, and they will buy whatever authentic thing you sell them.
- Consistency. That’s a secrete. Keep at what you do and everything you dreamed of will come. Keeping at what you do in tells watching, learning, improving, and pushing harder. It does not literally mean keep repeating the same thing even when there is no result. 2 posts in a week are quite fair and effective.
How TO Get Started with Email Marketing.
Getting and An Audience.
The first thing to get/achieve when starting an email marketing is audience. Yes, peoples email. On your website you can put a subscription to newsletter button there so customers who love your work there can subscribe with their Emails.
To do this organically, your website most promise a value that your leads will be ready/eager to hear more from you. You can gather these subscriptions with the use of an app/tool.
Use Free Email Marketing Tools, (Brevo).
There are plenty of email marketing tools that you can use but I recommended Brevo, but before I go into how to use Brevo, what are these email marketing tools?

Search Engine Marketing.
Here is a little secrete, search engine marketing is a main deal, and is very important for every digital marketer out there in todays world.
When the phrase “Search Engine” is mentioned, one name comes to mind and honestly that is “Google”. This is because google is the largest search engine platform out there with over 8.5 billion searches per day.
Google makes up for 81.95% of search engine use globally, Google is the go-to search engine for marketing, and that’s why we shall be using Google to properly explain the power and concept of search engine marketing.
Search engine marketing is a form of digital marketing where goods and service are advertised and sold on search engines. As simple as it sounds there are a lot of technicalities to and that’s why it’s better to contact a PRO.
Have every searched for an item on Google? Let’s say you searched for Running shoes. Aside the organic results, there are products that will show up there, they are paid ads. Now your job is to get your product seen not just by paying for google to advertise but also by ensuring that all other factors are in place to ensure your ads smooth running and an increase in ROI.
Good ads are further broken down to Search ads and Display ads and google has made courses for this very much available and free.
Difference Between Search Engine Marketing and other Forms of Marketing.
- Search engine marketing is based more on the intent of the prospects or customers. Unlike Facebook ads or Instagram where your profile is known and what you may be interested in is known by these platforms, in search engine marketing only your intent is deduced from your search. For example, Google search ads will show your “Sport shoes” products to a person searching for “Running Shoes”, because there is every possibility that this person might actually be looking to buy a shoe.
- Search engine ads reach a greater number of people because of the huge number of people that use search engines compared to social media marketing.
- In Google search ads, you get to choose where, when and to who your ads will appear to. What keywords your ads will appear for. For example, you are running an ad with the headline “Men’s Black Suit”, it is better to broaden the keyword search match of that ad to include searches like “Cooperate wears”, “Dinner outfits”.
To better understand Google Search Engine Marketing, google has made available a free online course that can brush you up with Google ads.
Content Marketing.
This is the last on our list, but one of the most crucial and effective skill in Digital marketing. Content Marketing flows with social media marketing and every other form of digital marketing. It involves giving value to your prospective customers.
But it does not end there, content marketing is giving value in form of contents (articles, blog posts, videos, audios) with the final aim of selling something in line with value to your customers.
Content Marketing has to do with patients, long period of building, gaining authority, and fame, problem solving and then finally Sale!
Since, content marketing anchors content making, it is pertinent that you are good at making contents before you venture into this digital marketing strategy.
Content marketing you combine creativity, comedy, and advertising into one. You must be creative with your headlines because that is what draw the attention of customers, and the next two seconds after that totally depends on the next two lines following the headline; it is their duty to hook your reader.
A good content writer is one that will draw the attention of the reader, hook them with the body, and then presents something to them along the line, usually towards the end.
Many resources are out there that teach various content marketing strategies.
Content marketing is all about growing your audience, expanding your reach and convincing them to take a particular action, might be to subscribe, share, or buy a product. It is here that the skill of a copywriting is needed.
This is actually very educative, thanks alot.
